Cost: Non-Members $160 • Members $150

Learn the basics of oil painting, utilizing the traditional methods of classical paintings. The class is designed to teach artists a step-by-step approach of painting in six, 'two and a half hour intensives' starting with drawing all the way through to the final finishing layers.

Artists will be able to choose the subject matter of their choice. Learn how to develop a drawing, transfer the image to a canvas using a grid, plus learn to mix color values correctly as an underpainting using the grisalle & verdaccio method or color washes.

Materials List

IMPORTANT: When purchasing your supplies, do not buy 'low-cost' student grade oil paints. You will not get adequate results, thus making the painting process difficult. The items listed are required. Consideration on material costs were taken into account, if you want to purchase items as we go through the classes, that would be fine. You may want to connect with another artist who is attending and split some of the costs if this helps. Any questions, feel free to contact me.
